Embedded Software / Firmware Engineer

Magnum Energy Inc., located in Everett, WA, is a leading manufacturer of premium power electronic systems for Mobile and Renewable Energy applications.

We are looking for an embedded software engineer, who would like the challenge of maintaining and improving the firmware in our premium products. We are looking for a technically talented, self-motivated and creative individual who likes to solve tough electronics engineering problems in unique ways. Most of the products we design involve tight integration of electronic and software systems with embedded controllers.

Excellent compensation and benefits are available for candidates who meet the following;

Job requirements:

  • BS or MS in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years embedded systems experience
  • Familiarity and experience in real-time embedded systems
  • Familiarity with Freescale embedded microcontrollers and CodeWarrior IDE
  • Good documentation practices
  • Familiarity with DSP's
  • Knowledge of hardware design and prototyping
  • Able to clearly express requirements / specifications
  • Able to identify requirements for testing
  • Clear commenting / documentation of code and theory of operation
  • Fluent in assembly and C
  • Good communication skills
Desired but not required:
  • Familiar with schematic design tools (PADs, OrCAD, etc.)
  • Experience in power supply, power inverter, power electronic designs
  • Familiarity with Cypress, TI and Renesas embedded microcontrollers
  • DSP, VHDL, FPGA experience a plus
